Just paste the URL of the product you want and click the Load button. I'll fetch the title, price and photo all by myself! If it doesn't work first time, I'll try again with a different method.

How Olaf retrieves product info

Olaf Wishlist is designed to work on as many e-commerce sites as possible. When you paste a product URL, Olaf automatically analyses the page to extract the title, price and image.

This approach allows Olaf to work on the vast majority of online shops, from the largest retailers to the smallest independent boutiques.

Automatic selection of the best result

Each extraction method produces a result, and Olaf automatically picks the most reliable one. It evaluates the completeness and quality of the extracted data β€” whether the title, price and image are all present and consistent.

Olaf then presents the best result to the user. If multiple methods yield comparable results, the most complete combination is chosen. This system guarantees the best possible quality, regardless of the website you are visiting.

Browser extension β€” sees the page as you do

The browser extension has a considerable advantage: it sees the page exactly as you see it, including content that appears after loading. This allows it to obtain more complete and more accurate information than other methods.

That is why the extension remains the most reliable method for adding products to your lists. If you regularly use Olaf on desktop, the extension is your best ally for enriching your lists with ease.

Load button β€” web and mobile

On the add item form (web and mobile), a Load button lets you trigger automatic extraction in one click after pasting the product URL. The interface displays a loading indicator during extraction, then automatically pre-fills the title, price and image fields.

You can always modify the extracted values before saving β€” if the extracted title is too long, if the displayed price is not what you expected (promotional price vs regular price), or if you prefer to use a different image. Extraction is a helping hand, not a constraint.

Backup method for complex sites

For the most complex sites, Olaf has a more thorough backup method that allows it to obtain results even in the most difficult cases.

This additional extraction runs in the background so it does not block your browsing. Once complete, the extracted data automatically pre-fills the form. Thanks to this fallback, Olaf covers as many online shops as possible.

Share to Olaf from another app β€” automatic extraction

On mobile, sharing to Olaf lets you trigger automatic extraction from any app that can share a link. No more copy-pasting URLs: your phone hands them straight to Olaf.

Here's how it works: you spot a product in another app (a browser, a marketplace, a message), you tap the native iOS or Android Share button, you pick Olaf Wishlist from the available destinations. Olaf receives the link and immediately runs the automatic extraction of the title, price and image.

If the first attempt doesn't produce a perfect result, Olaf automatically tries a different approach. This flexibility means you can add items from your smartphone in almost every case. The app must be installed to show up in the share sheet.

And when the product is right in front of you in a shop rather than on a website, the mobile app complements URL sharing and the extension with barcode scanning: Olaf identifies the product, its image and its price from the scanned code. Find all the details in the Mobile app guide.
