A 100% personal space

Memo lists are strictly private: only you can see them. There is no sharing, no reservations, no event date. It is your personal space to note down wishes over time, without pressure and without anyone else being involved.

Unlike private lists that exist within the context of a group, Memos belong entirely to you. They are accessible from your personal dashboard, independently of your groups and your other lists.

Priority, personal notes and sorting

Each item in a Memo can be given a priority from 0 to 5 hearts to help you distinguish your genuine must-haves from passing fancies. A personal note can be added to each item — a remark about size, desired colour, intended use — details only you need to know.

Items can be sorted in four different orders: by descending priority, oldest first, newest first, or alphabetically. This configurable sorting lets you organise your ideas however you like, depending on your current needs.

Convert and copy to other lists

When the time comes, you can convert an entire Memo into a private list (choosing the destination group) or into a public list. All items are transferred, and you can personalise the new list before sharing it.

It also works the other way round: from the settings of a private list that belongs to you, you can turn it into a Memo. Your gift ideas, their images and your notes are kept, but the list leaves its groups and loses its dates — handy for keeping in reserve the ideas of a list whose occasion has passed.

You can also copy individual items from a Memo to any private list in your groups, or vice versa — import items into a Memo from other lists. This flexibility lets you centralise your ideas before distributing them to the right place at the right time.

Filling your Memos: extension, scan and share

The browser extension for Olaf Wishlist has a dedicated section for Memos. When you are browsing an e-commerce site and find a product you like, you can add it directly to one of your Memos without leaving the page.

The extension automatically extracts the product title, price and image. All you have to do is choose the destination Memo and confirm. It is the fastest way to build up a collection of ideas during your daily browsing, without interrupting your browsing experience.

In a shop, same reflex: scan the barcode of a product to add it to a Memo in seconds — available only from the mobile app (see the Mobile app guide).

On mobile, sharing does the same job from any app: when a product catches your eye in your browser, on a marketplace or in a message, tap Share, pick Olaf Wishlist, and your Memos are right there among the destinations offered — just like your private and public lists. If the product is already in the Memo you picked, Olaf saves you the duplicate and offers to open the existing gift idea.
